COURSE LAYOUT

"Early-American story" in Chapter 18 that impresses as many players as players.

Front 9

The contrast between Karamatsu and white birch is a beautiful front nine. Bold ideas and accurate judgements are required.

Course detail(official website)
Hole 1 Par 4, Campion 418, Back 396, Regular 370, Front 347, Ladies 321
You can hit into a wide fairway.
However, if you aim at a big tree on the right side, the second will not be over the bunker.
The second shot is a bit downhill.
You can turn it on even if you roll it in front of the green.
It is hard to get caught by a bunker in the back of the green, so it is best to attack from the front.
Hole 2 Par 4, Campion 430, Back 430, Regular 406, Front 386, Ladies 336
The entire fairway is tilted to the right.
Utilise the left slope to aim for keeping fairway that do not see flat lay.
The second shot requires a difficult shot with a long iron.
The back of the green is damp, so you want to put the ball safely from the front.
Hole 3 Par 4, Campion 434, Back 403, Regular 378, Front 358, Ladies 260
You can not make the game up unless you hit the fairway left side.
If you go to the right, you will get into a lot of trouble, but from the left side, you can aimat the green with ease.
However, the green has a tight undulation, so you need to hit the put carefully without having to worry about the green on.
Hole 4 Par 5, Campion 544, Back 522, Regular 486, Front 467, Ladies 432
It is a bit of a downhill, but the landing of the tee shot is a problem.
The first shot needed to avoid the right bunkers and headed to the fairway left side, and the second shot aimed at the green flower road and aimed slightly to the right.
Especially for two strokes, it is important to think about how to hit the third shot and where you drop it.
Hole 5 Par 3, Campion 200, Back 180, Regular 163, Front 148, Ladies 90
It is a Hole where you can hit a pleasantly tee shot.
The bunker on the left and back is under pressure, but aimed at the green centre without worrying about it.
The pond on the green right is closer than it looks, so you are required to be very careful when the pin is cut to the right.
Hole 6 Par 4, Campion 410, Back 388, Regular 360, Front 340, Ladies 316
It was a bit downhill with the left dogleg, but the second shot was an uphill.
You have to choose to aim over a big bunker with a tee shot or drop right onto a spacious fairway.
A bunker that goes over effortlessly in terms of distance, but a temptation bunker that visually makes players feel quite uneasy.
Hole 7 Par 3, Campion 196, Back 196, Regular 174, Front 146, Ladies 139
The hole, which E. Snead is referred to as a nice looking hole.
Going down from the tee and the green is slightly up, so do not make a mistake in the sense of distance.
If the wind against you does not blow, you can easily catch the green with a middle iron.
However, once the pin cuts to the right side it is a bit tough.
Hole 8 Par 4, Campion 457, Back 434, Regular 397, Front 382, Ladies 295
This is a Hole that will definitely enter the top 3 difficulty levels.
The fairway is wide but quite inclined to the right, so the first shot aimed at the left side.
There is also a distance, so the second shot will be a long club.
Accurate shots are required for both first and second hits, followed by a good shot, alloig par-on.
Hole 9 Par 5, Campion 557, Back 534, Regular 487, Front 487, Ladies 386
A unique hale with no bunkers on the fairway.
The driver can hit it vigorously while looking at the beautiful mountains.
The second shot also swings as hard as he can aiming at the centre.
Damp crossing approach aimed at long green on the left and right.
The green area is also narrow, so you need accurate shots.

Back 9

On the back-nine, the scenery reminds of the Scottish Links, requiring accurate shots without being affected by the vistas.

Course detail(official website)
Hole 10 Par 4, Campion 424, Back 400, Regular 358, Front 332, Ladies 301
Karamatu Larch and White Birch forest is beautiful on No.10 hole.
The fairway is flat, but the exact tee shot is more important than the flight distance.
The right and left are close to the forest, so do not overshot it and aim to the fairway centre.
Bunker has only one on the left of the green, and the second shot can be aimed straight.
Hole 11 Par 5, Campion 551, Back 551, Regular 515, Front 481, Ladies 403
There is a big tree on the right and a narrow bunker.
The first shot aims at the centre or slightly to the left, avoiding the bunker.
The second shot aims at the left bunker and strikes accurately.
The third shot is an uphill of about 7-8 metres, and it is not difficult to put it on the green.
Hole 12 Par 4, Campion 364, Back 335, Regular 335, Front 309, Ladies 283
You want to take the plunge and hit over the left bunker.
The fairway is wide on the right, but the distance to the green is longer.
The second shot is over the creek, so you need accurate distance judgement to the green.
Even if the pressured second shot is successful, you can not feel at ease, because the green is difficult.
Hole 13 Par 3, Campion 222, Back 195, Regular 195, Front 171, Ladies 146
This is a par 3 with a distance so you need an accurate shot with a wood club.
The bunkers from the left in front of the green are bent.
It is best to aim to the right, but there is a step in front of the green right, which prevents you from rolling and riding.
As is the case with any short hole, it is important to attack safely from the front because it gets harder to go over.
Hole 14 Par 4, Campion 456, Back 428, Regular 428, Front 364, Ladies 364
This is a par 4 Hole with a dogleg on the right.
It is laid out to sew a dense wetland of reeds.
You want to drop the tee shot accurately, aiming at the front bunker.
You need to be very careful, especially when facing the wind.
The second shot's sense of distance is difficult.
Hole 15 Par 4, Campion 445, Back 413, Regular 395, Front 381, Ladies 346
The tee shot while looking at the pond on the right aims at the centre slightly right without overstriking it.
If you go to the left of the centre of the fairway, the trees will be blinded from the second point, making it difficult to aim for the green.
From the right side, you can aim straight at the green.
You want to attack carefully one stroke and cross the beautiful but harsh heartbreaking hill.
Hole 16 Par 3, Campion 201, Back 169, Regular 143, Front 120, Ladies 111
The large pond is tense to the right side, from tee to green.
This Hole is often wind against you, so choose a club carefully.
It is better to drop it in front of one size larger club than a full shot and roll it on.
You definitely want to avoid the bunker in front of you right.
Hole 17 Par 5, Campion 558, Back 526, Regular 506, Front 472, Ladies 382
This is the 17th par 5 of the wetlands on both sides.
The tee shot accurately hits the fairway centre.
The problem is a second shot.
Whether to squeak in front of the bunkers dotted in the fairway centre or get over as hard as possible.
Hole 18 Par 4, Campion 461, Back 441, Regular 385, Front 368, Ladies 330
The fairway is wide and the 18th final hole is as favourable as a long drive.
The green has a mound inclination from four directions, and a small green that looks floating.
Since it is the last hole, take the plunge and aim for the green centre.

The vast site of 1.65 millions square metres is surrounded by rich greenery and calm natural undulations. 18 holes were designed to trace the nature as it is. The undulations of the fairway are also rich and beautiful as a landscape. In a sense, it is a prototype of a golf course, orthodox and not trying to draw attention.
Hokkaido Brooks Country Club has a taste similar to the prestigious course of America, in terms of both its elegance and stateliness. Just like a great American golf course, the course building utilises the goodness of handmade. This spherical course is designed and supervised by Ed Sneed and Taizo Kawada's high-grade design ideas.
