Hokkaido

Sapporo is the largest city north of Tokyo, Japan, and the largest city on Hokkaido, the northernmost main island of the country.

"Gourmet town, Sapporo" is the gathering place of Hokkaido's seasonal ingredients.

In the center of Sapporo, a lot of shops such as Hokkaido Wagyu, Jingiskan(Genghis Khan), king crab, fresh sashimi and crab, sushi and Sapporo ramen, soup curry, and Japanese cuisine, and seafood restaurant is lined.

The city is home to Sapporo Brewery, white chocolate biscuits known as 'Shiroi Koibito, and as the birthplace of miso ramen.
In the Susukino area, there is a "Ramen Street" where 17 ramen shops are crowded together, making it a very famous area for ramen.

Sapporo hosted the 1972 Winter Olympics, the first Winter Olympics ever held in Asia, and the second Olympic games held in Japan after the 1964 Summer Olympics. Sapporo is currently bidding for the 2030 Winter Olympics. The Sapporo Dome hosted three games during the 2002 FIFA World Cup and two games during the 2019 Rugby World Cup. Additionally, Sapporo hosted the Asian Winter Games three times, in 1986, 1990, and 2017.

Karuizawa

Karuizawa is a resort town located in eastern Nagano Prefecture, bordered by Gunma Prefecture to the north, east and south. The town is located on an elevated plain at the foot of Mount Asama, one of Japan´s most active volcanoes.

Karuizawa is one of the oldest and most famous summer resorts in Japan, visited by many people from different countries since the 19th century, and also popular for locals to visit there for holidays because of its lower temperature and the humidity compared to the urban region. It is very comfortable and known by people as an iconic resort.
Because of the above reasons, many people build second houses in Karuizawa to spend their summer holidays. There are many kinds of activities that people can enjoy, and especially a golf cannot be missed.

The golf course has been developed since the first "Kyu-Karuizawa Golf Club" was established in 1919, reaching a total of 147 holes in 1976.
Karuizawa Golf Club, both of which are prestigious golf courses, is known for Jiro Shirasu successively serving as director and chairman. Since 1987, the women´s professional golf championship "NEC Karuizawa 72 Golf Tournament" has been held every summer at the "Karuizawa 72 Golf North Course" and has become one of the summer traditions.

You can enjoy many activities in Karuizawa other than golf. E.g., Ice skating, trekking (hiking), horse riding, tennis, cycling, ETC.
Karuizawa also has one of the largest outlet malls in Japan, which opened in 1995. It was installed where a golf course used to be (9 holes, half of the Karuizawa Prince Hotel golf course). Therefore, there is a vast "lawn square" that has left the golf course as it is, and six stores (240 stores) are arranged around it.

Hakone

Hakone is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Japan with easy access from Tokyo,attracting tourists seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Hakone is also known as one of the best hot spring resorts in Japan and it is called an "onsen theme park". There are a variety of styles and types of hot springs you can experience and enjoy in the area.

Hakone is in the mountains in the far west of Kanagawa prefecture, on the eastern side of Hakone Pass. Most of the town is within the borders of the volcanically active Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, centered on Lake Ashi (Ashi-no-ko).
Lake Ashi is a scenic lake in the Hakone area It is a crater lake that lies along the southwest wall of the caldera of Mount Hakone, a complex volcano that last erupted in 1170 CE at Ōwakudani.
The lake is known for its views of Mount Fuji, its numerous hot springs, historical sites, and ryokan. The lake is located on the Tōkaidō road, the main link between Kyoto and Tokyo. A number of pleasure boats and ferries traverse the lake, providing scenic views for tourists and passengers. Several of the boats are inspired by the design of sailing warships.

The tourist destinations in Hakone area are located at an altitude of 723m and by the shores of Lake Ashi. This high-level altitude and a lake breeze from the Lake Ashi are keeping the area cool with an average temperature of 23°C from July to August. So, you can avoid a humid Japanese summer if you stay in Hakone. Indeed, it is also a popular summer resort for locals living in Tokyo or the Yokohama area.
